The clients, two solicitor partners
in large Newcastle practices, commissioned the project in 2002.
They moved out of an existing house in Darras Hall and rented
whilst finding a site for their new home which is on a large,
nearly one acre plot in Darras Hall. It replaces a small between-the-wars
house which was demolished – this is common practice in Darras
Hall where the plot sizes out value the existing houses.
The brief was for a 3,200 square foot house very clearly in contemporary
style. We produced three completely different options with
the selected design being developed and constructed. It was
completed in Christmas 2004. |
